Who are the Christadelphians?
Christadelphians are from all different walks of life.
We are bound by a common belief that Jesus is coming back to this earth to set up God’s Kingdom bringing peace to a world full of trouble.
We aim to base our lives on the faith and practice of the early Christian church.
The name ‘Christadelphian’ comes from a Greek phrase Christou adelphoi, which simply means ‘brothers (and sisters) in Christ’ and is taken from Colossians 1:2: ‘To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.’ As the New Testament was originally written in Greek, the word for Christ is ‘Christou’ and the word for brothers is ‘adelphoi’, so when you put the two together it forms ‘Christadelphian’.
We are part of a worldwide community of believers established about 170 years ago.
The community includes men and women and their families who want to be followers of Christ and we are a group of believers who meet regularly in Langley Road, Watford, Hertfordshire, at the Watford Central Library - presentations about topical subjects and several activities each week are conducted online, since the covid pandemic.
